RWN in partnership with the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is currently implementing the Public Policy Information and Advocacy (PPIMA) project. The project aims to promote interest among citizens in public policy affairs as well as assisting citizens to organize and acquire skills they need to effectively engage in national and local processes of policy formulation and implementation to ensure that policies work to deliver improved services, especially for poor Rwandans. The project operates in Kageyo, Gasange and Murambi Sectors of Gatsibo District.
Citizen efforts to monitor, give feedback and engage in dialogue to improve policy effectiveness, impact and service delivery mainly use the following: Community Score Card process, budget/expenditure analysis, District Dialogues and, among others, Radio Call in Programs. Community mobilization and engagement is led by Community Animators elected by citizens and trained by RWN.
